La Cuarentena is the first 40 days after the delivery of the placenta.

This period of time is a delicate phase for the mother-baby’s health based on the indigenous perspective of the south. This is a raw time of spiritual and physical challenge and transformation; where life, death and reborn are the essence of this cycle.

This class is designed to teach women the basics about the first forty days of postpartum from the Traditional Mexican Medicine perspective. We will go over some basics on teas, herbs, and food.

We will work with one of the super foods of the indigenous lands in Mexico: amaranth.

This class is open to women (and partners) of all ages and backgrounds. From the first-time pregnant mom to the well-seasoned midwife who wants to learn more about this time and what it means for indigenous people of Mesoamerica (Anahuac).

The class will be recorded, and you will have access to it for 30 days.
